These terms govern your use of HairTryOn at hair-tryon.pages.dev (the "Service"), operated by an independent developer ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. What the Service does

You choose or take a photo. Software running in your browser estimates your face shape from facial landmarks and suggests hairstyles that often suit that shape. The photo is processed on your device and is not uploaded to us (see our Privacy Policy).

The Service does not currently generate images of you with a new hairstyle.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Your photos

• Only use photos of yourself, or photos of someone who has given you permission.
• Don't use photos of children unless you are their parent or guardian.
• You keep all rights to your photos. Because photos never leave your device, we receive no copy and no license to them.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for anything unlawful, or to harass, impersonate, or identify other people;
• use the Service to infer sensitive traits about anyone, such as race, health, or identity;
• interfere with the Service, overload it, or try to bypass its security;
• scrape, copy, or resell the Service or its content in bulk;
• use our name or content in a way that suggests we endorse you.

5. Suggestions are not professional advice

Face-shape results and hairstyle suggestions are automated estimates, offered for inspiration only. They can be wrong because of lighting, angle, hair covering your face, or limits of the software, and they don't account for your hair type, texture, or scalp condition. Please consult a qualified stylist before making changes. See our Disclaimer.

6. Paid features

No paid features are currently available, and we don't collect payment or payment details. Prices shown next to "coming soon" features are tentative and are not an offer to sell. If we launch paid features, we will publish the price, what you get, and our refund policy before you can buy, and we will update these terms.

7. Our content

The website's design, text, graphics, and code belong to us or our licensors. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Hairstyle names and general styling ideas are not owned by anyone; the hairstyle and face-shape illustrations on the site are simple line drawings made for HairTryOn, not photos of real people.

8. Third-party software and services

The Service uses third-party components, including Google's MediaPipe (open-source software that runs in your browser), Google Analytics, and Cloudflare hosting. Their use is subject to their own terms. We're not responsible for third-party websites we link to.

9. Changes and availability

We may change, suspend, or stop the Service, or any part of it, at any time. We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date shows the latest version. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT ANY SUGGESTION WILL SUIT YOU OR THAT YOU WILL BE SATISFIED WITH ANY HAIRCUT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY DISSATISFACTION, COST, OR LOSS RELATED TO HAIRCUTS, STYLING, OR SALON SERVICES YOU CHOOSE. THE SERVICE IS FREE, SO OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US TO USE IT, WHICH IS ZERO (US$0). Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator resides, unless mandatory consumer law of your country says otherwise. Before filing any claim, please contact us first at hello@howtallai.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
